Kirsty Vant, Psychotherapist and CBT-i Specialist

Kirsty is an integrative psychotherapist specialising in sleep and perinatal mental health. She supports adult clients with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, lifestyle change, work or relationship issues and chronic health conditions. Kirsty also works with parents dealing with concerns around sleep and perinatal mental health.

After 15 years working in the NHS as a Health Visitor and School Nurse, Kirsty completed a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and has additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i) and perinatal mental health. She has worked as a CBT-i therapist at the Insomnia Clinic.

In 2022 Kirsty was awarded an Innovate UK grant to launch a digital course, 'Slumber Skills', which has been adopted as a commercially available resource for parents who wish to apply CBT-i techniques to children with sleep difficulties. Since 2018, Kirsty has also been a lecturer on the Level 6 Paediatric Sleep Practitioners course through EDS Training.

Kirsty completed a Master of Research in Psychology at Goldsmiths University of London, where she conducted her own research into the factors that affect sleep in early adolescence and holds a BSc (Hons) in Nursing Studies. Kirsty is a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, the British Sleep Society and The Royal College of Nursing.

Taking a client-led approach, Kirsty concentrates on building strong relationship and supporting clients to work through their priorities using a variety of techniques and adjusting her approach as required.
